DuckDuckGo and search queries
I have done a blog before on if elections are being influenced with google's search engine, but now even the New York Times is getting in on the google train. In an article released this morning by the NYT, the author described how Google was better than DuckDuckGo in terms of the search engine capabilities, which he is right on. However, what he does not understand is that Duck Duck Go is uncrated, so that means that if those set of words are anywhere on any webpage/document on the internet, then they will show you the results. Unlike that of Google who shows you a search list comprised of websites that are on Google's black box list. This list is just a cross reference list of sites that are untrustworthy, might have malware, etc. However, what some people have noticed is that some sights are on that list that do not deserve to be on there. That in turn lowers the numbers for these websites. What the author failed to realize is the fundamental difference between Google and DuckDuckGo. One is curated, one is not. Which leaves room for doubt because Google is technically not showing you all the results that they should be, and that infuriates people that are trying to find uncurated search results. I am interested to know if anyone else uses these types of engines like DuckDuckGo or Brave because I think they give better search results than that of Google.
