Trump made his own twitter?
Donald Trump launched a new app called Truth Social, which was created just about a year after he was banned from twitter. This is interesting to me because someone that was banned from the mainstream social media is just creating his own to spread his own ideology. Trump is hoping that this app will bring over his followers from twitter, but I have a hard time believing that will happen, at least any time soon. This seems like a way to stay relevant in the news because I realistically do not see anyone getting on there from any other party other than staunch conservatives. This apps brings about the question from his Twitter ban, do social media platforms have to uphold freedom of speech, or since they are a privately owned company can they do what they want? I honestly do not know the answer to this question, and that is why I am posing it to you guys. I would love to hear yalls input on Trump's new social media platform.
I have to hand it to the former President where determination and a refusal to be silenced prevail in his actions. I mean he is creating a platform in order to share his own opinions given he was banned from the platform he once used to communicate with his supporters. I too held the question of whether or not his ban from Twitter was just given the basis of freedom of speech.
